It was great to be playing again after a lengthy break due to Xmas and the weather. The plan today was to give all the lads a good run and and swap the team around as much as possible without spoiling their rhythmn.
During the first half we seemed quite flat and never really got going on a very uneven surface. It wasn't until Wyre took the lead that we started to play anything like we are capable of. We were unlucky not to equalise when Luke T had a free kick disallowed, with the referee deeming that it had gone over the bar rather than in. The lads accepted the decision and eventually made it 1-1 on the stroke of half time when Jaydan headed in after Luke B had hit the bar.
In the 2nd half we started to dominate midfield and we took the lead through a long range shot from Lewis. We continued to alter the personelle on the pitch and we started to move the ball a bit quicker which lead to further goals from Nathan (2), Jack Webster and George.
This made the final score 6-1. Despite the scoreline we didn't play at our best which is understandable after the long lay off and the number of changes we made during the game. The pleasing thing was that all the lads played at least 40 minutes and we managed to blow away some of the cob webs.
Hopefully the lads will see that the quicker we move the ball on the better we looked. This was apparent in the last quarter of todays match. All in all a good days work. MotM awards went to Nathan (parents) and Luke T (managers).
Well done again lads.
